Steve Capra is a playwright, director, actor and critic. He's interviewed dozens of the most prominent artists in world theater — directors, playwrights, performers, designers and producers. His first book, Theater Voices, contains interviews with theatre leaders including Edward Albee, Harold Prince, Sir Peter Hall and Sir Alan Ayckbourne.

His plays have been produced in New York and the UK and have receieved honors including finalist positions in The Tennessee Williams Short Play Competition and, for his verse drama, The Bordighera Poetry Prize Competition.

Steve's critical writing has appeared in theater journals including Critical Stages, Stage Directions, Performing Arts Resources, Puppetry International, Sinais de Cena (Portugal) and Divadelni noviny (Czech Republic).

In NYC he's acted with — or been presented by — The Public Theater, The Theater for the New City, Bread and Puppet and La MaMa. He's also worked as actor and series producer for Judith Malina and The Living Theater.

Steve's studied extensively, most notably at HB Studio and RADA (Shakespeare Gold Award). He holds three advanced academic degees and lives in New York City.
