Mauricio Kartún is one of Argentina's most prominent theater artists, applauded throughout Latin America. He works in may genres — classics, premieres, children's theater, puppetry and many of his own plays — and he's associated with the progressive Argentinean theater movement referred to as "the new dramaturgy".  Mr. Kartun has been honored with many awards, including four Ace awards, four Theatre of the World Awards and The Javier Villafañe Award (for puppetry). In 2020 he was awarded El Gallo de La Habana.
