Sir Nicholas Hytner was the Director of The National Theatre, London, between 2003 and 2015. He was previously the Associate Director of the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. He’s directed productions in every genre, from opera and musicals to straight modern drama and Shakespeare. Some of his most important successes have been productions of Miss Saigon, The History Boys and The Magic Flute. His many honors include two Tony Awards, two Drama Desk Awards and three Olivier Awards including The Society of London Theatre Special Award.
